Fayes interest in art and crafts as a child drove her talent at school enabling her to graduate from Worcester Art College and then Wolverhampton University, in the field of surface pattern and textile design. This allowed her to achieve her dream career in rug and carpet design, in her local area of Kidderminster. As her father was a carpet weaver this was something that Faye had grown up around and believed was her destiny! Faye learnt the ropes from the great designers of the local industry being coached by them to create Persian and traditional designs. Resizing, production work and colour matching; along with visiting trade shows abroad and teaching carpet design overseas, all gave Faye an excellent grounding in design in her early years.
After a short break as a Primary Teacher with an Art Co-ordinator role, the world of design beckoned again. Always close to her heart, Faye's return to the rug industry was inevitable. Now with the flexibility of her role at the Woven Edge she has the freedom to further develop her skills to produce even more exciting designs. In her free time Faye enjoys making memories with family and friends, camping and listening to live music.
