Rebecca
Drawing is second nature to Rebecca, absorbing inspirational colour, shape and pattern from everyday life. Inspired by her dad, drawing came naturally to Rebecca and from there a passion grew. Leaving school Rebecca went to Walsall Art College taking a diploma in art where she studied all areas of art and design and a love of colour, textiles and pattern evolved.
From here, Rebecca completed a BA Hons Degree at Wolverhampton University being a natural choice specialising in carpet, floorcovering and repeat pattern. Work experience was an integral part of the course and allowed her to learn computer aided design being one of the first graduates to use this method for her final show. After graduation, Rebecca joined a well-known carpet design company as a junior designer where she gained valuable experience from one of the top carpet designers in the field. From here Rebecca went on to lecture in carpet and repeat pattern on a BA degree course inspiring new young designers. Whilst there Rebecca was approached to join a creative team to design rugs and carpets for the American market. Over twenty years later Rebecca is still creating leading edge design with the same passion, flair and enthusiasm. |
